Hi all, I am a newbie to this forum so please forgive me if you are tired of hearing this question. I need some good quality switch mats. I am going to need 7 or 8 of them so I might have to try to build them because they will probably be too expensive to buy. Can you give me some ideas on how to
construct these mats I would really appreciate any help of anykind that you
can give me. I might also be interested in looking at buying some mats if anyone knows of a good place to buy them. Thank you. rbarch

I'm sure there are how-to's on the monster list, but have you considered pir's?

Basically any two thin metal strips separated by small squares of double-stick foam tape.
Leaving open areas inbetween (2 inches or so) where the metal strips can touch when the foam is compressed.
Each metal strip is like a pushbutton switch contact. Tie several together (all the tops and all the bottoms) to make any size you need. Attach a couple lead wires an cover it all with some heavy plastic sheeting glued around the outside seam.
They are quite easy to make.Last edited by HomeyDaClown; 04-05-2008 at 09:22 PM.
