I have never used Monster Mud before, and when I did a search I couldn't search just Mud and it seemed that all conversations that had the word Monster came up when I searched Monster Mud.

What I want to do is make a static prop of a person sitting on a bench, maybe with one leg crossed and one arm on the back of the bench.

Is Monster Mud a good way to do this?

Yes, Monster Mud would work, if you have the artistic ability to shape it into human form. I do not, so I use the Duct Tape Dummy technique when making life-size/life-like props. Look at Shadow Man at http://www.starkmadness.com/photos/t...s.php?album=24
Also, for the Pirate Captain (same album), I traced a volunteer's body onto paper & used that to cut out styrofoam which I then shaped & attached to a PVC frame.
"Well I guess they were wrong then, weren't they?" I-gor

Monster Mud when wet will crack and it gets very heavy then you have to wait till it dries again. The other member's gave you good ideas on how to make bodies and the is one more way using chicken wire that you shape for body parts. Then stuff with newspaper to help it keep is shape. see My tutorial on how I made Santa. On My website.between using pvc pipe and the chicken wire/newspaper method you will have a real nice prop and its not heavy. and you can pose him to sit down,

this year I plan to put Santa on a deer and have him waving..

Thanks for the feed back! After I posted the question I remembered past conversations about the Duct-Tape bodies as well.

What I am making is "The King" from the Burger King Commercials.
So the prop would wear tights on his legs.
