Well this year we thought we would add a light and sound show via a FM transmitter I have seen lots of your guyz set-ups but wondered what you all used for your sound and light displays....My haunt being a prison theme we decided that this year we would re-do our grave yard to look more like an old prison graveyard with the old run down look...Any ideas are greatly needed....

A great thing for beginners is a Kit74 board (8 relays to turn lights on and off)... and a copy of VSA.... or you can go to one of the DIY christmas sites, build/buy a light controller and use Vixen... a free light controlling software. Theres lots of options... just depends on exactly what you want to do.

Light-O-Rama works for me and a Belkin FM transmitter.

Love my Haunted House In A Box Pro from Animatated Lighting. Check it out here: http://www.animatedlighting.com/products/hhiab.asp
Whats great is you can use the Pro for Christmas and other holidays, plus get the software Animation Director and do custom shows.

GPS, I'm sure this will sound like a stupid question, but when you metion software does it mean it has to have a computer hooked up to it to work? Also do you know if I could run this off a generator?
A BAD DAY ABOVE GROUND IS STILL BETTER THAN A GOOD ONE UNDER...I THINK?!

Yea I use D-Light controllers, and Spectrum suite as the program... but your right... it does need to be attached to a computer to work. Unless you are using VSA and a controller that works for it, then you could purchase the RAPU... which is a board that you upload your routine and audio to so you dont need a computer. But that is an extra 300 dollars... but it includes a copy of VSA... so its really only 240 by itself.
As for a generator... depends on how big the generator and what type of lighting... if you are trying to get away with switching on and off lots of flood lights and high wattage lighting... I would say no unless your generator is huge... but if you are using small lights.... low wattage... its definitely a possibility...
Also... another possibility is using LED spot lights... you can make them yourself and run them off of DC and batteries... and just get a controller board that can switch on and off DC..... otherwise.... they sell them as AC versions that just screw into standard sockets... use only a couple watts and are extremely bright for their size and energy use.
Again there are many different methods to use depending on exactly what you want to achieve.

The Haunted house in a box comes with programed shows on a memory card. You do not need a computer to run it. The software is only if you want to make your own shows. It will work off a generator. GPS made a good point about using it for X-mas also. I enjoyed decorating the outside this year with the x-mas shows.

Thankz guyz those are some cool products, but I'm not sure if I could fit that in the budget this year...All be looking at over a $1000 fo the pro kit and then I still have to get an FM transmitter so I'm not sure if this is where I want to put my $$$$ and I already have plan's to build a animated hearse and the budget this year is are highest ever $3000 for the year we made $627.38 cents in donations from family/friends/and guest on the 2 night that were were open so I want to do some big things and a great light and sound display is something I always wanted to add...I will have to think on this one...

I was surfing around tonight and came across some lighting machines but they are only for lighting I think....There cool but still not what I'm looking for.....All I want is something simple I don't really want up beat music and stuff...I want it more scary thunder/lighting and scary out door sound's and maby a story of the haunt playing maby some creepy music behind but don't get me wrong those light shows are great but they are just to up beat for my prison themed haunt....I thought about maby building my own sound set-up like DC or Terror Syndicate but wasn't sure where to start....I seen on there site that there selling some of there sound stuff but I didn't inquire about it....
Well any more help or ideas would be great.........
