Heres a few pics of my latest prop for HOH 08...Im planning on building 2 more for a total of 3 that can be nested inside each other for easy storage....2 of these will be deli counters and 1 will be used as an "actual artifacts" holder.

By the way does anyone have a wway to cut plexiglass without it cracking????

    Fine job there Screw.

As far as cutting plexiglass, they make a scoring tool for that, I use this method on thin plexi.

Depending on the thickness of the plexiglass I have also been known to use a bench top scroll saw,Not the hand held sabre saw.
I would imagine with the movement of a sabre saw it just might crack the plexi, but I haven't tried a sabre saw yet.

I put duct tape on the plexi where I want the cut, and mark my line.
Then I cut at the lowest speed of the saw and don't force the cut.
The duct tape also keeps the plexi from melting back together during cutting.
At least this method works for me.

I'm sure there are others here with better ideas, I just thought I'd throw my 2 cents worth in.

By the way, how is that good lookin' woman of yours doing these days.
Got her into the Halloween scene yet?

Turn the blade backwards on the saw you're using, and cut slow. I have also heard you can cut think plexiglass underwater with a heavy duty pair of scissors, although I have never tried that myself.
Do you have any plans or dimensions for your prop?

Hey Strange1 Lori says "Hi" her and I are engaged and plan on getting married next year. She doesnt have the creativity as I do on building stuff but she enjoys Halloween.

As far as building plans I usually just kinda wing it...
The 2 sides are 4' at the bottom and 1' at the top the front base part is 1' . I made the 2 sides then put pieces of plywood between them using 1"X2" as shelf holders. Then measured the front viewing area and cut a piece of plexiglass to fit it.

Has anyone tried using a dremel to cut plexiglass? Does it work?
