So we began work on the wagon hearse. First off let me say thanks to jim ghost and otuoko (I know the spelling is wrong, please forgive me.) I gave the run down of how the whole prop will work on another post so i won't get into that here. I am now finding out that this will be a lot on the costly side to build as far as the home haunter goes. Just the plywood, black iron pipe, flanges and pieces was over a $100.00 and thats just wheels and axles. We started on the wheels and got them cut out and the first coat of paint on them. Rear wheels will be 48'' and the fronts are 38''. We then moved on to the coffin that will be in the rear. To save a little dough we reworked our knock if you dare coffin. It has made 2 seasons in the bone-yard so it was time for this to fit some where else. We stripped out the coffin, then gave it a fresh paint job. We lined the inside with white silk. Cut and hot glued. The rig to make him work is a pvc sit up frame. I know a lot of folks like and dislike using screen closers for lift. But i have never had a problem with a blow out (knock on wood) right now he works off a simple remote, but later he will be hooked to 1 of 2 timers for the prop. The guy inside is last years costume of my little boneman's. He does the intro for our haunt video in this for last season. (on the front page of our web site) So know we have a good story line for why it is in the coffin now. So here are a few pics and a video of where we are at now......

Looks like a good start. I'm doing the old west style hearse this year as well, but it's not started yet. I have to find someone to build it for me, as my hubby has backed out of that deal (so now he has to build me a FCG). Looking forward to more pictures as you progress.

wow looks good so far! If you want any ideas on construction and finishing touches check out my hearse from last year http://s185.photobucket.com/albums/x...t=P1000294.jpg
The wheels are from harbor freight, just cuz I was too lazy to cut them out, but I think yours look better! The filligry is all from HD and Lowes, and the collumns are made from gazing ball stands from Big Lots that were split to fit the sides with 3in pba pipe below. Also if you want a good paint go for the ultra high gloss black they sell at HD (its pre mixed and I believed its BEHR... just look for the black can.... We have roughly 5 coats on this thing but 1 would definitely do it). If you need any help at all on the hearse end dont hesitate to ask

those wagon wheels from harbor freight.. do no apply more than 50 lbs per wheel. If you do so, they will buckle.. trust me for we found out the hardway.

looks good!!! I have been wanting to build a Hearse for the last 2 season but the Haunt has just over taking my whole yard display, but this year I plane to put some some more focus on the graveyard well actually were redesigning the whole graveyard to look more like an old prison graveyard, instead of the tordishinal look but great job how much are you spending on this build? I'm trying to get an idea because we have a few big projects planed but I would like too add this to the haunt this year but instead of your cool pop-up I want to have a FCG that levitates out the coffin then back down...lol a FCG......
