I am having trouble finding washer solinoids for a penumatic prop. Does any one know if something like this will work instead http://images1.hdpi.com/product/orbit-valve-57100.jpg ? I beleve they operat off 24 volts. so I will need a transformer.
Build it and they will come.

I use solenoids from dishwashers and refridgerators with ice makers and they work great. What you have listed looks like a sprinkler solenoid valve, I've seen them used on other props, in particular air cannons because they can handle a larger volume of air.

I have never used a sprinkler valve, but have seen them used online. If you want some washer machine valves, I can get them for you. Just PM me. I have a good source!

Orbit valves will work in pneumatic props, but they are slow closing (prevents water hammer in irrigation systems), this doesn't really present a problem in some props, but they don't work very well for air cannons, the slow closing rate makes the device "honk". And yes, they are 24 volt, but you can get a transformer to operate them at any Home Depot or similar home improvement outlet in the irrigation section.

Not sure what you need, but you can always get one off MonsterGuts...my washer solenoid leaked and I had to take the whole prop apart...they are fairly inexpensive on that site, he is great to deal with, and you will find all the parts you need linked to it. Great for people just starting out (and he answered a lot of questions for me). Good luck!

The sprinkler valves are also 24VAC, not DC. The easiest place to get one would be the place you get the sprinkler valve from.
