Hey guys so i have been putting together a vortex using a green laser pointer and a small fan with a mirror, my question is the laser pointer uses 2 AAA batteries that if i leave it on will not last all night can i hook up a small battery pack to the pen with out having to take the whole thing apart? or is their a better way to get it to last all night

you could use 3V power supply, and a piece of dowel the length of your two batteries, you may need to make a hole in the case for a wire but that will last indefinately

I think if I understand right is you cut a piece of dowel the same length as the two batteries and same thickness. You take the + wire from the 3V and glue it down on one end of the dowel and the - wire on to the other end. This is what will allow you to get the connections to each end of the battery compartment. Drill a whole thru the top of the laser to feed the wires thru (may want to do this first). Put dowel in the pointer to take place of batteries and you have power.
