They heat up fine. the remote shows power, but never shows that the fog machine is ready to fog. I tried pushing the button about every 3 minutes for an hour. still nothing. Anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?

"Liht F/X" and "The Fog Machine" brands. I've seen the other posts on the board here but havn't seen this exact problem before.

It sounds exactly like what my Gemmy "The Fog Machine" was doing. So sorry!
http://hauntforum.com/showthread.php?p=177001 (edited 11/1 to fix messed up link - this should now lead to Charlie's post on Haunt Forum about taking the fogger apart to clean the pump mechanism - check the pdf link in the poster at the top of the page)
It's a walkthru for cleaning the pump for the Lite F/X brand of fog machine. Couldn't hurt to try if you're going to toss them out...
I posted a few days ago about my fogger dying right before our Halloween party, and I am going to try this on my Gemmy Fog Machine before I chuck it just to see if I can resurrect it from the dead.
Had to get a new fogger for the big night, tho! Got a Screamer fogger from Spirit for $20 + $15 for the remote timer. I figure if I can get the other one working, then I'll really fog up the place next year!I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

We have 20 foggers, so there were spare ones. It just sucks when 25% of your foggers all die of the same problem. The link just goes to a horrorfind page... i can't find the directions to clean a fogger. Anyone know the exact page?

Just a quick question...Did you test all 5 fog machines with the same timer remote??? I can remember doing something simular, and the remote was jacking up the machines!!!

I've always heard to clean it with vinegar and water mixed, rather than buy the cleaning fluid.
Here are some sites with directions:

i've had this fogger for 5 years now, and have not had a problem yet. I also leave the fluid in it all year. http://www.electotronics.com/index.a...D&ProdID=52860
