The Fortune Teller is Complete!!

Its been a long time in the works. It has been working for a while now, but needed those last minute tweaks. I put it out for the party last Saturday and raised $21.75 in quarters (87 fortunes). The proceeds are going to American Cancer Society.

And yes, that is Dusza's voiceover! Its not on the video, but there is a BORED mode that kicks in after 3 minutes of non use. In bored mode, a strobe light comes on and he starts singing the Macarena. I actually went as far as to design my own strobe circuit that uses 18 SUPER bright LEDs. The green light on the coin acceptor changes to red when it is loading/playing a fortune and back to green when ready for a coin. The RGB color cycling ball I built from a Glade LightShow air freshener that I ripped up and did some mods to. There is a post on this forum about the trigger I built to kick off VSA console when a coin drops.

It will be running again tonight and tomorrow night during our yard haunt.

Awesome! I feel like running to the bank to get 18 quarters so I can hear all the fortunes. I can tell it took alot of hard work to make this but hte payoff is great!

I will get a clip of the Macarena playing on it during our haunt tonight and post it. Its fun. It was a throwback to an old video game called Neverhood where the main character gets bored and starts entertaining itself.

Thanks. The voice is great. Got lots a complements for you on the character. It would not be the same without your awesome job on the voice.

I would love to have my full skeleton haggle with him next year. Maybe I could get you to work some more magic sometime???
