    Default Spooky Dot Room

    Hi guys!

Have to ask here cause my search words were too 'common' for the engine -they were SPOOKY, DOT, and ROOM go figger ha ha ha

I'm doing research on variations on ye old spooky dots in a black room. Anyone have links? How-to's? Links to pics?

Any leads would be much appreciated.

Eyes in place of dots, or even faces can certainly be a creepy alternative.

One of the best ones I've seen, though, took the whole thing a step further. (sorry no link)

The room was shaped like a big 'S', so you had to wind your way around, but you didn't KNOW that when you first walked in. Hanging on all the walls and from fishline in the middle, were glow in the dark hockey masks. A regular plain old white light would turn on for about a second once every minute or so, to recharge the masks, and mess with your eyesight at the same time.

The masks swing back and forth from people walking through, then they had people HOLDING some of the masks as well and they could get them right in your face before you realized maybe that one was 'real' and not moving at random like the others.

It was a really nice effect.

Last year on HGTV there was an Extreme Halloween program that had the spooky dot room. The room was covered in black, don't remember how the dots were done (probably glow in the dark) and they had people dressed in black with the same dots on them. So as they moved the room moved. Is this what you're thinking about? I have the show on tape, as they had really cool decorating ideas.

I heard about the hockey mask kinds as well...you get those cheap ones from the dollar store, paint them florescent colors, hang some on the walls, some on lines from the ceiling...then of course people dressed up in all black with masks on them against the walls. I think it would be a cool effect! Remember...don't let your actors touch anyone! I would love to have someone stand right in the walk path and have someone run into them...then have the mask slowly turn to look at them. That would freak me out! Also thought about doing that sort of thing with hanging body bags (if I get enough) thought that would be fun as well.

Hello marsham. Unless I'm way wrong, that sounds like wormyt's dot room. She doesn't have a website, but she's an excellent photographer and does her how-tos with her camera. Her dot room photobucket album is Here.

Her and Mike C., another forum member, were featured on that show.
