Hi. I am looking for a prop that sprays a mist or spits at onlookers. I want to add more details to my prison scene and I thought one or two animated props that spray the audience with a little water might be fun. Of course, I will have to add the legal mumbo jumbo before people enter such as, "Touch the props and you will become one" and "Spit at the props and they will spit back". I've seen one on Ebay but $1200 bucks is a little on the pricey side.

What are you looking for the prop to do?

You could try using a hose mounted mist spray nozzle from a garden centre, then use a solenoid valve to turn the water on/off, though take care, talking about water is fun in April, and becomes less funny in October

Great Topic dionicia...I too want to know how to pull this one off!!! My major concern is not getting people or the floor wet. I have seen some of these proffessional props listed as being able to do this. I am not sure what they are using???
I know my neighbor installed a profssional Mister system in his backyard that uses a 1000 psi pump, and you don't get wet ( same thing as theme parks)

What about a 12v winsheild washer pump from a car. You could use the pump and tank. Get a piece of hose the length you would need. Play around with different fittings for the spitting/spraying end to get the desired affect.....Depending on how far you would want it to go, you could also use a 5v power supply if distence is not a factor. Or even a washer valve for a trip. Just my 2 cents.

did you consider just using a small tube and only compressed air for a hiss sound?

How about using a washing machine valve with water (as originally intended)
But reduce the outlet to 1/4 inch to increase the pressure???? Just wondering if that would work.

12v car washer/pump units are cheap from the junkyard ,i use with some of my props. I use plant mister ends with a fan on some props & a small metal tube that i flatten out to shoot water out in other props. Car washer pumps can get some distance !! But with Oct I try to refrain from getting people wet,the cold & night can get people a little ticked, & a few that were not sure what just happened ( Da' devil made me do it
, Hee-Hee )
When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........
