I purchased one of these online back in January from http://www.picobotics.com/PicoPic.html.

I still have not received it, so I emailed them to see what was up.

They said they didn't have any more and refunded my money. I really want one of these because of the number of servos that it will control and because of the reviews that board has benn given here.

Does anyone have one they are willing to part with?

    Name your price.

They said they 'didn't have anymore'?! Are they going to GET more or are they going out of business? Sounds kinda lame to me that they'd tell you that three months after you placed your order... if they can't get an order for a single board backordered and refilled in three months, they sound in trouble.
For ten bucks less than their non-existent product, you can get a Parallax board which will run 16 servos, and can run from serial or USB.

I sent them another email asking if they were expecting to get more. Have not gotten an answer yet.

Do both of the boards listed above work with Brookshire's VSA software?

OK, maybe the SD21 isn't for you, out the box it doesn't look to be MiniSSC compatible, you would need a processor that can convert the MiniSSC serial signal.

I just found this, and it is listed on the VSA webpage as being compatable.

    http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.as...&CategoryID=52

It controls 32 servos instead of just 20 AND it's $10 cheaper than the PicoPic

you know Im curious, most people who make animatronix props rarely use more than half a dozen or maybe a dozen servos per prop.

What have you in mind that needs 20?

I am only using 4 servos per prop. 5 for one. Then I need 4 or 5 misc. servos for other things. I am just using 4 props in unison ith each other.

I was so inspired by Mike C's singing quartet, that I am trying my hand at it for this year.

I am designing it a bit different, but it should look pretty similar when done.

I just can't get that image out of my head after I saw what he had done. Amazing work.

By the way, Mike, I bought those skulls that you saw a while back that looked like the lightwieght ones you used.....

They do look like them, AND they are lightweight, but they are also solid styrofoam, not hollow, so I guess I am still looking for HOLLOW lightweight skulls!
