Hey friends, I trust everyone is well into their 2007 Halloween ideas. Last year I felt the biggest weakness with my yard display was the lighting, but I don't want static lights to really ruin the effect either. I've been toying with the idea of buying the "Haunted House in a Box" from the Animated Lighting Company. Its a little on the pricey side but I'm open to it if it will help add some atmosphere.

Has anyone here used this product or a similar one? Any thoughts? I haven't been able to find any other competitors offering a plug and play approach like this prodcut does, so any other leads anyone else can offer would be great too.

    Thanks!

    John

Guys, I caved in and bought the HHIAB standard... haven't done anything with it. I can't wait, though. I couldn't justify to myself the cost of the PRO, but if you have the skills and desire, I say go for it. I'm taking the easy way out, I guess!

Hey thanks for the link Canadian Witch! I should have searched the forum a little better before reposting virtually the same question.... Oh well. My bad.

Wilbret, you will have to play around with it and let us know what you come up with. Are the sound tracks available on the standard good or corny? I think with the Pro you can create your own shows to your own music tracks, but is it worth the extra $$$? Or are you happy with the tracks the standard comes with?

Good lighting can go a long way...

    Thanks guys,

    John

    I will let you know...

You can hear/see the sounds and effects on their site. I figure if I outgrow the HHIAB, I can upgrade one day.

I am sure there is a way to hack it, maybe that is a discussion for down the road.

John, I got the PRO a month ago and I love it. The tracks are great! I got the PRO because I was able to have all three Halloween tracks put on one card. Also at the end of the show I have all the lights go off for 5min. They were also able to put on start/stop times on the card so it would turn on and off at night when I wanted it to. I also got a christmas card which my wife is happy about.

I just pulled out various lights and such and played with my HHIAB. I FREAKIN' LOVE IT!

Granted, it would be nice to add my own music, but the ability to time lighting effects to sound effects with zero effort is pretty darn cool.

I say that because without fail, every year, I end up trying to get stuff to work at the last minute and putting stuff off till next year.

16 inputs may not sound like a lot to you, but really that is a LOT OF STUFF. You can run extension cords, so technically you can have more than 16 devices as long as you don't exceed 15A for 8, and 15A for the other 8. That's 30A total of stuff.

For all you Pro users out there. Animated Lighting has added two more songs to their halloween lineup of programmed songs. One is Night on Bald Mountain and the other is called HallowTV which is a montage of several popular TV themes including Twilight Zone, The Addams Family, and the Munsters. Enjoy!!

Can you use the regular lights or do you need LED lights to stay under the amperage?
