Hi All,
Has anyone used a GEMMY Fog Timer on a FITCO Fog Machine?? Will it work?
I recently purchased a Fitco Ground Fogger and Fitco Timer...Problem is the Fitco timer only disperse's fog for 10 seconds each time, so it only shoots out 1 1/2 cycles before the fogger resets and needs to warm up again.
I plan on purchasing the Gemmy Fog Timer (3-Prong) since it has a 30 second disperse cycle to help provide more fog per cycle.
My apologies if there is a post already out there to this question. Ive found that the Gemmy works on LiteF/X machines but no one mentioned Fitco's. Ive been lurking for some time know and my eyes are about to fall out from all the threads Ive looked into.
Thanks for any input and all the great info Ive found so far.

As a side note: my first thought is that the Fitco may not be capable of such an extended burst - the heater may not be capable of maintaining the proper temperature for a 30 second burst of fog...
...and improperly heated glycol can make formaldehyde...
(glycol being the ingredient in fog juice that actualy turns into fog (hence the smell)...formaldehyde being highly toxic)
If you're using the fogger in an outdoor setting, that may not be such a concern (lots of fresh air), but if you're using it indoors, it won't take much to make folks sick.
I don't have any technical spec's otherwise, so this is all guesswork - but something to consider.Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...
2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...

Thanks for the good input, Ugly Joe.
I think its more of a coordination thing with the timer and fogger shutoff settings more than a heater issue. Ive used the fogger with the manual switch and have gone 20 seconds or more before the shutoff switch goes off on the fogger.
The standby lights on the timer and the shutoff clicking on the fogger leads me to believe that the cycles are just missing the "ready" time on the fogger.
I was hoping for more of a " when they do connect, to get a longer disperse of fog" in between reheating/waiting cycles if you know what I mean.
oh, and I will be using this outdoors.

UPDATE:
Tried the Gemmy Timer on my Fitco Ground Fogger last night and it worked perfectly. I now have the effect I was looking for.
>>>30 seconds of fog disperse and a reset "ready" time of about 2 1/2 minutes between cycles<<<
Also, the fogger had no problem shooting out fog for 30 seconds. This will be a great addition to my other foggers (DIY fogger/chiller and regular fogger).
