Thread: Question about outdoor slide projectors

Went to a yard sale today, and the guy had one of those animated projectors for outside for next to nothing (Heck, he gave me a skull for nothing since I'm the Halloween Lady). Unfortunately he didn't have the slides for the holidays, just the projection unit himself. Has anyone used that without the slides, and what did you do with it? I'm thinking there has to be something, especially since I didn't want any cutesy images anyway.
My display is out along the road, so am wondering if it can be used for something out there, as opposed to my hidden from view house.

You can make your own by printing images on to printable transpariancies (sp).
You will have to get the correct kind for your printer ( ink jet / lazer). This works good because I have tried it before.

Those projectors come with a set of slides and then usually you can buy other sets of slides for different holidays. Keep a look out for those items during Halloween and christmas and I am sure you will be able to replace them.

Excellent...that's good news, both for the make your own and replacement ones. For $2 I figured it was worth the chance.

I have one, the slides are OK, but I plan on making my own as well. I don't know if your's is similar, but it's easy enough for me to take pictures of the slides, I believe there are 5 per strip.

I have the National Geographic 3D viewer.

there was something on line that inolved making a vortex looking image using one of those things. I may have seen it in the Monster Pages.
