budget about 100$ and the space is this hilly area I dont really know how big the area is right now because its been raining and we have not went done there yet to see the area the hayride is going to go through, but I do know that the area is a nice size its not small because we do have a drawing layout of the area.

I got an awesome devil mask from ebay last year for about $10.00, check there. You could have the devil around a cauldron of fire, hang some animal cages with something wicked inside.

I think the less you put in an area, the better. Place things strategically in the dark. It makes people look for something, which is sometimes scarier than seeing something. Leave much to their imagination-they usually start thinking of something scary on their own. This will also help you out with your budget.

$100 budget "Hell Scene" huh? OK here we go...
Is this in a wooded area at all? If so gather up all the dead wood and downed branches you can....cheap source of fire! Build a couple fire rings...should be some rocks around that you can get for free! Set them up in a pattern in the area. The cheapy stores have plastic skeletons for Halloween, Big Lots right now for $8.88 each. Get a few of them and place them in the scene, you know stuck through the back on a stick type of pose...lol!
Some general lighting of the area, mostly reds and amber for that in the middle of the fire feeling. Cardboard cut outs of flames, can be made just about any size and propped up with no problem. Shouldn't cost much if you can get some boxes from a grocery store for free. Those can be used to fill in areas where you might not have skeletons or REAL fire.
Use the devils mask and costume idea and have whoever that person may be stand with a "pig roasting" prop, you know the kind that rotates above a fire. Not using the real fire of course, use one of your $8.88 skeletons and tie it to the prop and the devil has a job to do now, besides yell and scream at the heyride guests!
The raoster prop can be built fairly easily too, a few 2x4's and you should have it.
So you should end up with enough money left over to stock up on beer too...LOL!Paul

Not really a hell scene, but have a person in devil costume sitting behind a dining table with body parts, fake blood etc. Had the "devil" appear to be eating an arm or leg, and had a sign that said "soul food" You can add the idea of a person on a roaster spit
