Is this the Tormented Zombie with Head Ripping Action like Spencers sold last year? I bought mine on sale for $50 (was $100), and have to say that I am well pleased. He's full latex, and looks pretty good in the dark. He also runs off batteries or electrical, which is good because the swamp I haunt has very little access to electricity. The best part is that he is sound activated (instead of having a motion sensor - which is usually crap in the dark), and seems pretty sensitive. He seemed to scream and lift his head off just when he was supposed to. I'm not advanced enough yet to build my own animatronics, so instead I buy pieces like this, and try to change it up to make it something a little different. It took me a while to figure out how I could use this guy, other than having him coming out of a grave, here's what I've come up with.

I'm going to build him a body, and dress him in rotting overalls (careful to avoid covering the sensor). I'm going to rip open his lower torso, and fill it with intestines. The intestines will be probably be colored cooked oatmeal, which I am stuffing into long narrow plastic sleeving, which I usually use in my shop to protect rolled posters. And I'll have a couple of big black rats in his lap chewing on the intestines, and maybe sprinkle some dead madagascar hissing cockroaches on his body for good measure. ( I may even get one of those wiggling hands and set it under the intestines so that they move <but you won't see the hand>) I'll have him sprawled out under a tree somewhere along the swamp's trail. I think my biggest problem will be keeping the swamp critters from *really* eating his intestines...

yep, I have all three too. great adition to any haunt. My tormented zombie is three years old and is still working perfectly.
the fact thay you have a choice of batteries or plug in power is great. don't always have power where you need it. Also they are sound activated, so they don't need to have much light on them like "motion" activated props.

We had a hard time getting mine to move last year (head ripper). We ended up setting on a ground flat step coming up to our house with a little schim under it. Kids stepped on it and the zombie would come into action. I love the idea of giving it a body...how would you trigger it to move? It didn't seem very sensitive to sound...what would trigger it???

I also own one of the tormented zombies but im not happy with it. When i plugged him in to use on halloween, he went for like 1 min then he popped. I dont know exactly what happened but he was ripping off his head when all of a sudden i heard a huge pop noise and he was dead. I flipped him over and smoke came out of him. The sad thing was that it was too late to return or exchange for a new at spencers because the clearenced everything out and i was left with a piece of garbage that doesnt work anymore. I paid 90 bucks for him and now hes worthless. Anyone have any ideas on what to do???? My bro opened it up and tried to see if he could fix it but he has no idea what is wrong with it. Im sooo bummed about it and i tried calling spirit halloween but they wont connect me to a rep. Oh wel......................................:(

WOW thats terrible jon, this past year I bought the chest ripping zombie the first day it showed up and promply put it away till th day beforw my maze opened. when it was all done I plugged the zombie in and nothing...bummed, man. anyway I called my local store[they know me pretty well there, they have my home # and call me when deals pop up] and of course they had none left, but they called around and found one or me, bit of a drive but it was worth it.
don't know, but I'd try to exchange it next year when they show up again. My tormented zombie has been out in the rain for three years and never missed a beat.

Good idea about exchanging it when they get them in again. What i think i will end up doing is buying a new one and putting the old one in the box and returning it. Thats probably the only way that i can get new one. I hope that will work or else im screwed.

I got the broken floor model after Halloween for $25. Good deal, and I've got it partially fixed, but I have a few problems.

The first issue was the on/off switch was broken, so a trip to Radio Shack for a $1 part and a few minutes of soldering fixed that. The motor works just fine now, but unfortunately, there's no sound. The rest of the electronics physically appear to be ok, but I guess I could try replacing the potentiometer unless someone has a better idea?

Also, it didn't come with the A/C adapter, so I have to run off batteries. I'd like to buy an adapter for it; I know it's 6 volts, but it doesn't list the amperage anywhere on the zombie or the box. Can someone who has this creature look on the actual adapter itself and see if it specifies the current?

Thanks.

The tormented zombie is sound activated as well as the crawler if not using the remote. I have both of these and keep the tormented zombie near where I'll be and throw little pebbles at him and he goes off, as for the crawler I keep the remote in my pocket to control him.

If anyone has a working or non-working Tormented Zombie for a decent price I'll buy it.

I just picked one of these guy sup at a yard sale for two bucks! Of course he only screams and no longer lifts his head. Anyone know if there are any guides with how to fix this? I'd love to try and get him in working order. He's also missing a battery cover which is the pits.
