Chub Yes, the open gates are the switches, this is a parallel circuit and will allow any of the solenoids to trip when their "switches" are closed, or opened.

OK. Thanks
I have another question. I think I will only need 3 solenoids this year, so is there anyway that I can still use that power supply but only 3 solenoids?

Yup! Not sure which supply you ended up getting, I drove 27 hours over the weekend so I am a bit mushy.

Basically, your power supply is going to have a power rating in amps or milliamps and your load (valve) is going to have a power draw rating in amps or milliamps.

In simplests terms, your draw shouldn't exceed your supply.

And for those who might jump in, I am not going to teach the fundamentals of an electrical circuit, I am just helping Chub out.

Chubacabra, what/how are you planning to use to trigger your solenoids/props?

Sorry for the double post....but

Empress, looks like your going to use 120V AC... Please be extreeeemly careful... AC is unforgiving and can/will kill you dead. If your not sure exactly what doing...get some hands-on help

Now don't scare the nice lady. I work on 120VAC applications all the time and my hair only barely stands up and I stutter on occassion.

But seriously, 120VAC has concerns, but it isn't something you should run from. Low voltage DC does take away alot of the concerns.

Good advice, if you are not sure, ask.

There's a man who's interested in helping our haunt this year. It just so happens he's an electrician. Yippee! I'll ask him to hook it up for me.

Thanks for the warning, guys. I feel loved. Awwwwww....
