Default Fogger test was a failure

Ok, I need some suggestions from the experts out there. We live in Holland so it was difficult to find a 'fogger'. Here they have what would translate into a 'smoke machine' or a 'mist machine'. We figured mist was fog. We found a second hand mister for sale at a place that rents them for theatrical performances. The guy told us its a fog machine but the name on it is: Antari Z 300 Fazer. Its 700 watts and has a remote control that you can use to create intervals of mist, fog, faze or whatever So, we made a fog chiller for this machine using the pipe with the frozen liter bottles inside it. We tested it this evening and it was a flop. We use the Fazer juice that came with the machine. The output was not very good and it didn't really hang on the ground like the the photo's I had seen. Is there anyone out there with knowledge of this type of machine who can give us some advise or tips?

Thanks,
Barbara
By the way, the electric chair is just about finished and it turned out GREAT! Will post pics when its done. The pop up ghoul is also just about done. Added the hands this weekend and now just have to add the cyclinder. Was originally going to run it with a small motor but the prop turned out to be too heavy.

First of all you must realize that no fog will ever hug the ground if there is even the SLIGHTEST breeze. So little breeze you can't even feel it and the fog won't hug the ground. Thats the biggest problem with foggers. Last year ours hugged the ground maybe 3 minutes out of the entire nite due to breezes.
As for your fogger, i don't know wht you're having output problems, That company makes fog machines and i believe that model is one, but i'm not sure. Just do a google search for that model number and you'll find out in a couple minutes. Here in the U.S. mister does NOT refer to fog machine tho. It refers to a unit that vaporizes water and puts out very very little "fog". If yours IS a mister, thats the reason for the low output. But i didn't thinkAntari made misters, but i dunno.

I would try ebay and buy one. They have them for around 20-30 bucks. I'm sorry about the chiller, I've never built one so I don't know how to help you.
Good Luck!,

Try using ice instead of frozen waterbottles. Fill the pipe about half way full.

I built 2 of the PVC pipe fog chillers and they both work great. But I used ice, not the frozen bottles.

Ok, after investigating a little I learned the following:
We have a fazer
A fazer can produce fog or haze...thus the name f-azer
The 'fog juice' that came with the machine is actually 'haze juice'
That would help explain why the output was so minimal and why it wouldn't hang on the ground. So now I'm going to try to see if I can find real 'fog juice' here in holland and HOPE that its not outrageously priced.

Another thing to keep in mind. The odjective of the chiller is to get the fog's temperature lower than the outside air. Example - if your temperature is thirty degrees and the chiller only gets the fog down to forty degrees it will never hug the ground. I am in Maine and prefer dry ice since dry ice is -109 degrees (versus ice from the freezer that is 28 degrees), this tends to get my fog colder than regular ice, therefore, giving me a low lying fog. (Until the breeze kicks up

Yeah, dry ice would have been my first choice as well if I could find it here. We decorate for a Halloween party. The fogger will be outside on a covered & enclosed patio and use a heat cannon to keep the temperature warm outside. If we didn't do it this way, we'd never be able to invite 30 people cause they wouldn't fit into our small little house And using the patio also gives us room for more props!

Don't know if this will help, but it is a listing of dryice locations in the US and the world. http://www.dryicedirectory.com/

I made a fog chiller 2 years ago, it worked fabulous in the house but on halloween we're lucky if its +5C outside and that made the chiller completely ineffective outside.
