I made a standing mummy last year that everyone thought was real! I put on some old clothes - long sleeve shirt, sweatpants, gloves, and socks. I had my wife wrap me in two rolls of duct tape. Once you get wrapped midway up your stomach, have the other person cut a slit down your back and just slide your feet out of the socks and pants. Do the same thing with your upper torso. When finished, Just make a frame from a standing 2 x 4 with supports and staple the duct tape halves to the vertical 2 x 4. Use duct tape around the mid-section to connect the two halves. You can use a wig form head and duct tape that to the neck section or a mask for the head. I used a skeleton mask with lightup eyes. Before closing the last seem, I filled the inner cavity of the mummy with styrofoam packing peanuts. I then draped torn up cheesecloth over the head and spray painted the whole thing with tan fleck spray paint. Before the paint dried I threw some dirt and sawdust onto the mummy for additional texture and aging.
There is a picture of it on my prop page. Really came out great and only cost me about $15.00.
