If I were turning a room into a crypt, I would:

- Build a coffin and place on a 30" high box right in the center of the room. I'd paint the box to look like stone.
- Illuminate the room with a single green light shining down on the coffin from directly overhead.
- Drape black fabric from ceiling to floor in two opposite corners. Good hiding spots.
- Put up cobwebs all around the perimeter of the room especially throughout the corners.
- You could put urns on bookcases or tables around the perimeter of the room.
- There are no windows in crypts so if you have any windows or alternate doors in the room cover with black fabric from ceiling to floor. Grey would look good too and could be spray painted to look like stone walls.
- Get a roll of 4' x 50' fake stone wall border from Party Pig or The Party Store and use pushpins to cover the room walls.
- With the coffin in the center of the room, create a pathway for people to walk around the room in an intended direction. You can then hang motion or sound activated spiders and things like that in strategic locations.
- I wouldn't have the coffin do anything. People will expect it to be the focal point when it is really the distraction so you can hit them with scares from some other direction.

Just a couple of thoughts.

There was a site (forgotten now) that had cool stained glass windows done by cutting flourescent contact paper into mosaic patterns in an old window frame, then hitting with a black light. Just a thought if you wanted some color.

t.k.

I am making a stained glass window by cutting foamboard in a gothic window shape, glueing a shower curtain behind it, then painting the shower curtain with glow in the dark paint. Then I'll light it up with a blacklight from below. Here's the start:

Also am putting a casket with my bucky laid out. I picked up some garden candle holders at Family Dollar. They are wrought iron and I am leaving off the stand and hanging them from the ceiling. I have yet to find a transparent skull to place inside to light up instead of using a candle.
