Default Possible new site to order from...

*Let me put a disclaimer here, I am not trying to break the law or anything*

I was at Walgreens the other night buying medication for my wife, and while they were filling the prescription, I was wandering the Halloween isle...

....well while I was there I bought a 3" plastic skull...and on the tag was a website....so I figure I can goto the website, and possibly get some props cheaper, you know, direct...

So I goto the website, and the site is password protected, probably because you need to be a dealer or something to get into the site to look at the Halloween stuff....well, I *didn't* 'hack' the site, just used some intelligent means (NOT ILLEGAL MEANS) to get the password...
and on the site, once you get in, you can call to order stuff....

So, here is the site:

http://www.sunstargifts.com

goto the "products" link- when you do, it will ask for a password. The password is "customer1"

Then you can look at their halloween stuff....it seems to be much cheaper than at the same stuff in stores...

If anyone orderes from them, can you post here and let us know how it goes? If they ask where you got the password, you can say that it *is* listed on their own site (you didn't steal it)- Because it is listed. If anyone wants specifics on it, email or message me. I think they just want to sell to large retail chains, which is the reason for the password in the first place...

Ok even better idea, here is a link DIRECTLY into the Halloween stuff...so nobody put in the password...(in case they get mad, you didn't put in a password or anything):

http://www.sunstargifts.com/public_html/halloween.htm

Again, I think this will just give them more business, and is a way for us to order directly from an importer (I'm pretty sure they import directly from China)-

The "Password" is nothing more than a client-side Javascript. If you use a browser with Javascript disabled you will go right to the products page. So don't worry about "knowing" the password.

The bigger issue is the Terms and Conditions on the Contact page.

"Term and Conditions:

We are wholesale only.
Minimum order requirement is $100.00. California customer must have a CA resale number. Credit accounts must be approved in advance by our accounting department. Please allow 2-3 weeks to process your credit application."

The prices are better than retail, but not by alot. For example I paid $9.99 at BigLots for the shackles listed on page 26. If their cost is $7.50 (minimum order 6) plus shipping from California, then the cost will probably be about the same as BigLots and I'd have get rid of 5 extra sets.

However, with that said I'd love to have a few of the items. Especially the 26" Demon Gargoyle for $35 on page 13!

I noticed too, that the Spooky Butler is $125 + S&H from them. I paid $100 at Sam's Club. But they do have some pretty cool stuff.

Nice catalog. From what i've seen, some of their products are cheaper than comparable products you get from retailers. If you live putside Cali and don't mind droppin the 100 dollar minimum, it might be worth trying.

I called them today just to find out what the real "terms & conditions" are. The guy I talked to was really nice. They started taking Halloween orders back in March and still haven't been able to ship everything out yet.

They don't seem to care much if you actually own a re-sale business or not (unless you are in CA). They just want you to order the $100 minimum at least. He also stated that they are pretty much sold out of everything from page 1 to page 5 of the catalog.

If you decide to order anything, he requests that you fax the order in to the company and then give them a day to check the inventory on hand. Then call them to see what portion of the order they can fill. Also, he says they won't charge your card until your items actually ship.

They have some really GREAT stuff.

BTW ScareFX, I know, but I didn't want to get too technical for the people here....you could also just look at the source of the code to get the password...
