Default New Cemetery Pillars

Hi - I'm about 95% complete with my cemetery pillars. I have one pic posted in the gallery. I would have just embedded the picture in the post, but I do not know how to do that. If someone could let me know, that would be appreciated. Just click my link at the bottom of this post. I still need to paint and top off with 2 lights or Gargoyles (if I can find them). The phony brick is not too dificult to do. I just outlined an area and sanded it down with a power sander. Then I used a real brick to size the mortar lines and etched them in with a philips head screw driver. I nicked the idea from Moonlit's website. One thing I did learn the hard way is that if you are creating the mortar falling off the brick illusion on both sides of the pillar, make sure they match up. On one pillar they do by shear luck and on the other they do not. Off to the next project....

Those are nice! You are in NY aren't you? I heard they don't have a Menards but if you do, check out their garden items for gargoyles. I bought mine from a cement statuary place. One is a fountain top and could be rigged up to shoot fog out it's mouth if I wanted to.

Yeah, brick patterns are hell-a easy to do, and always look good as long as you pick appropriate shades of red and grey for the paint. The foam even has a good brick "feel" to it when painted, and it's nearly impossible to tell it's NOT brick unless you get up close and give it a good look/feel.

Great job! Looks similar to mine:

Try gluing some silk vines up them. That can help make them look a little more neglected. I may do this to the ones pictured above before I set them up this year.
