Default need help with tent idea

I live in MI and usually on halloween it rains. Last year i got lucky, it sprinkled for a couple of min and then it stopped(the rest of the day was very warm). Even if it doesnt rain, i want like a tent all around my house that i plan on making. I bought a small tent thing for 20 bucks at target but if i bought a whole bunch of those it would cost way to much. My idea was to use painters plastic(black) and make a frame out of pvc. How should i go about doing that? Is pvc the right thing to use to make a frame and is there any sites out there that can help with this??? It needs to be able to endure some harsh weather conditions(i think rope and some stakes can handle that).

I really want it to be a walkthrough this year but i cant do that if i dont have the tent type thing i want.

Any advice will be helpful and i greatly appreciate it. THANKS

If you don't mind an arch shaped tent then just stake pieces of pvc into the ground over rebar(connect pvc together to give it the desired height) and arch it over your driveway or where ever else you want it,then attach plastic. I saw them using this method at Menards today while setting up their display. At the time I was thinking about how cool this would be for a haunted walkthru-kind of like dark tunnels!

I was at Sam's club look at the big garage tents and I noticed that they were all built with what looked like sched 40 PVC pipe... 45 degree corners and "+" fittings... this probably won't port right... but you get the idea...

We use that method. We live in MO and it often is rainy and or windy. We used 1 in. pvc pipe and put up sides by staking uprights to the ground with rebar. Just drive rebar into ground and then lower the upright onto it. We stake all corners and some in between. Then we connect all sides with variously placed cross pieces and some across the top also. These are connected with cross shaped connectors and T shaped ones. Then we draped sides and roof with black painters plastic and taped down with clear duct tape. T It held up fairly well. We had a walkthrough that was 16 x 18 feet and you can hang things from the pvc walls and crossbeams on the ceiling. We had inside walls to make different rooms.

Last year I bought a tent kit from a guy on ebay. He basically sends you the tarps, bungies, and corner / roof connectors and plans. Then you go to a fence supply place and get them to cut poles to fit the corner / roof connectors. I think that the end product was around a 15' by 24' tent. As best as I can remember, the price for the whole thing was around $300, which was more reasonable than the other tenting alternative that I scoped out. It worked very well for our party. Good Luck!
