Default Pictures are up of my tombstone jumper

I have some pictures up of my pneumatic tombstone jumper on my props website. It's based on the Vilethings.com pop-up design for the moving arms, but the jumping action comes from the Vilethings jumping mechanism.

I'm planning on using him to spring out from behind a tombstone in the graveyard.

I have to add the pneumatics, but the props page has everything else. This is one of my last major props for this year. I'm headed to Hawaii next week, for work of all things, and I'm taking August off from prop building. I need some rest.

I'll be back on here when I get back from Hawaii the end of July.

Another great prop!
Going to Hawaii? You lucky devil! Hope it is not ALL work. Remember all work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy hehe. Have fun and be safe (typical motherly advise)

Yeah, well done Darktomb. Where did you pick up the hands, torso, and head for that prop. It's particularly good for a pop-up!

I wish I had the money to build props like that. Along with the space to store em all! Nice job Darktomb!

I could be wrong but With my knowledge of material costs that probably was not an expensive prop(although it is priceless) except for the creature on it. TDT, how much did it cost to make the actual mechanics of it, not the prop, and how much will it cost to ad an air cylinder?

Crazy,

It cost me $16.00 for 4 2x4s, 2 2x2s, and 1/4" bolts/washers/nuts. That's the frame with torso and hands. The pneumatics will run another $25 - $30.

Sprfly, they sell him on Ebay right now for $69.99 new. Here is the address: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...257053339&rd=1. It's through April's Closet. I've bought stuff from them before. The head is partially foam filled and attached to the robe and hands with a metal armature. I took the hands off and I'll end up making slits in the robe to fit to the wood torso. I picked mine up for $50.00 on Ebay from someone getting rid of him.

Great job Dark Tomb! This prop should scare the heck out of the trick or treaters. Also great web site. Thanks for the inspiration.

As darkness falls and shadows loom I bid you welcome to my tomb.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I just added a "page 2" to the Tombstone Jumper which has the pneumatics added in and shots of the mechanism in the down and up positions without the zombie.

If I build another one of these mechanisms, I think I'm going to try and minimize the footprint of this. It's very long so I'm thinking about moving the vertical main lever supports from the front to the back of the horizontal frame. I think that would cut down the length from 7 feet down to 4 feet.
