Default Fogs

Hi, I'm interested in making my own fog machine/fog fluid. Any ideas on how to go about it? Also, does anyone know the composition for the fog fluid and how does it work?

Here is an article about making your own juice for those who are interested. http://wolfstone.halloweenhost.com/H...ogJuice18.html

Read the warnings as this is not as easy as most think! If you mix chemicals improperly or use the wrong type, you can make yourself sick as a dog or possibly even get yourself killed. Not to mention what it does to others present at your party or haunt.

I'm not preaching here so don't get me wrong It's just that alot of people don't realize how serious stupid little fog juice can be ya know?

I also created a post earlier about $8.00 gallons of fog juice at "TARGET". So if the only reason for making it is getting it cheap... a Target Store near you may be the ticket.

Hope this info helps. Enjoy!

Thanks for the link. Although I noticed the post you posted earlier on the $8 fog juice per gallon, I much prefer to make my own cause I'm all into mixing chemicals and the likes of it.

http://mcm.newark.com/ sells EXCELLENT foggers for $39.95. This is a dramatic price drop since comparable units were selling for $300 to $500 each back in 2000. I fogged two acres of forest (no breeze) with two of them. With a breeze, place them upwind and you will have more fog than you need. If indoors, 5 bursts of a one minute each will take a standard sized room or apartment to ZERO visibility. Keep the windows closed or the neighbors WILL REPORT A FIRE (no sh-t!). The units are designed to run for one minute on and will cycle off for about a minute to reheat the element. You have to maually activate them to start again (with toggle switch) unless you get the optional timer.

Part number 555-3210
Fog juice 555-3097

http://www.aaacamera.com/antari_fog_machine.htm sells the upgraded unit with wireless remote control for $59.69.

The URL to make the fog has become an infinite redirect page loop if anyone knows of another site that has the recipe I would love to have it. Or better yet if anyone could post the recipe here that would be terrific.

With the way prices dropped these past few years it will probably be more economical to just buy a fogger. I have built one in the past but it doesn't put out nearly the amount of fog that store bought units do.

i agree with you on the point of not building home made foggers i had two home made ones last year one wouldn't heat up the other created this very fine mist.... im scraping them for next year but i still would like to know how to make fog juice to cut cost a little bit.

Hi Winter and cailenb. The word here should be don't. It's not only that the chemicals need to be pure and accurately mixed, but the heater has to be at a constant temp..That's why the store-bought ones need to recyle (shut down)in between bursts. If the temp. on a homemade unit isn't accurate then it can burn the juice and release toxic chemicals. With the cheaper ones going for about $20 and the juice $5-10 a gallon,I think you'll be long past that by the time you buy all the chemicals and set up a reliable heater. And the cheap ones still kick out a ton of fog. But it's the health concerns that should deter you.Check out sites like this, they all say don't.http://www.gotfog.com/

Ask not for whom the bell tolls......
