I'm debating how to use our strobe light at our party this year. I don't want it constant & seizure-inducing, just sudden burst of light. I'm thinking of using it in the great room with the fog machine, but it's not coming together yet. Another idea is to rig it in the shower with my dead guy, so the bathroom visitors will get a sudden shock.
I was wondering how you guys have used it before in a party or gathering situation, as opposed to a haunt where people keep moving through.

I point mine at my props. It goes off when the prop does. Just like what you want to do.

I forget what site said this, but I once read that you should aim the strobe away from your guests and have the strobe on the lowest setting.

If you or anyone you know is good with electronics, you could either build or buy and modify a timer to set it to go off at given intervals. Or use a sound trigger or light beam activated switch to make it go off when someone makes enough noise or crosses the beam.
