For my first graveyard display I ran the drill into my hand. Nothing like a Phillips screwdriver head rotating at high speeds to turn everything into hand burger. LOL ( I know, sick humor, but I can laugh about it now, It stopped hurting. )

Whynotgrrl666, Have you tried duct tape? Love the stuff. Will adding torn up trash bags to your creation help? Give it some more body without adding body to it.

I've learned to never use powertools by myself after my husbands drill went flying across the garage while I was trying to enlarge a hole in a piece of wood and it got away from me...LOL! Sure glad he wasn't home to see that!!!!!
Parental superervision is a must (just kidding Deadna).

I had another mishap, I stored my left over fog juice with my fogger and somehow the gallon jug sprung a leak in the attic.[B)]
Being that, I store my Halloween items in Rubbermaid containers the juice soaked everything inside, including the fogger (the box absorbed the juice and fell apart).

    Tip:
Place your fog juice in a plastic bag, or two, then put it away!

    I'll be lurking for you.

We had a nasty incident with the maze crashing last year, ruining both sides of the wall, but the most impressive result was the evil spinning head that got wound up in it's own hair when the wall came down. Repairs were complicated by the staple gun exploding into the maze. We re-opened, but it was altered some....

Tip: Re-inforce the inside corners of your haunt, and bring an extra staple gun. Oh yeah. And some humor.

    Here's another one...

When taking part of your props apart and you are using pressboard, make SURE it's secure when you put something aside.

Learned this one the night before last when the whole face to my mauseleum fell forward and slapped on the concrete, shattering it into about 10 peices and ripping the screws out. One day behind now, and only 10 days left... *sigh*

Looks like the fireplace prop may have to wait until next year.

Ok here is one to remember. 50 pound test fishing line works really good to sail your bats across the yard. Just make sure it is out of reach of the TOTs, and cats. My bats flew past the treehouse in the backyard until one of the cats grabbed one and pulled the line down surrounding a bunch of guests.

We got them all untangled and set it back up before the next group arrived but I didn't see the cat again for 2 days.

Strong=Good. Out of reach + Very Good!
