Newbie here with a question (duh!),
I've built a 4 channel color organ and all is fine. I would like to trigger it via a small boom box (using microphone input so no problems there). My concern is that I have downloaded some audio files in both wav and mp3 formats and want to burn them to a CD for use in the boombox. Will a standard player handle the mp3 format? If not, what format would be best for playback?
Thanks,
John

Depends on how new the player is. If it is within the last say two years....probably.

Yeah, but usually the player still has to say "MP3" compatible. If not, your burner program might have a converter to turn it into a standard audio CD that can be played on any player that can see the disc itself (since some players don't like burned discs.)

I downloaded a halloween audio file that was in MP3 format and it didn't play on any of my cd players. So, I went online and downloaded a program that allows you to convert many different audio files from one type to another. I converted the MP3 to a WMA (windows media audio file) and that did the trick. The program is an evaluation version and allows you to convert up to 10 files. After that you can either uninstall the program or buy it for $20. Follow this link to download the program: http://www.audio-converter.com/ Good luck!
