Wassup guys. I am new to this group and need some help from ya's. Does anyone know how to make a pressure mat to that I can use to control a shop vac to blow air. I am in charge of a haunted house and I am trying things this year that have never been done and "interactive" haunts are something no one has ever done here. I also would be greatful to any other "interactive" ideas anyone could throw my way

I haven't built one, but it should be simple. You'd just need to have two pieces of material for the mat with some kind of conductive foil glued to one side of each. (sticky back foil tape may be good)Then sandwich them together with a piece of spongy type foam between them that has holes in it....probably 2" holes every few inches or something like that. Then connect a wire to each of the foil backings to the "on" contacts of the prop. When someone steps on it the foil will make contact and in turn the two wires will also. Of course you'll have to sew it all together or use some kind of glue or whatever.

Do a search, I posted a link to it aready. I wouldn't use a home made mat on 110v. With a low voltage relay maybe.

What you'd wanna do is use the mat to control a low voltage relay that in turn would trigger the 110 volts to the vac.

Lol, yeah dazco, I have to delegate a lot of responsibility and I've learned that if you give someone the opertunity to screw up then 80% of the time they do. I have to treat my employees like babies and tell them exactly what and how things need to be done. Unfortunate but true.

[orange]Thanks guys, I found a mat at a local hardware store, real cheap to, since it was for a non-profit orginization, the owner of the store donated it. We've got an electrician on our department who is taking care of the rest.

    Happy Haunting!
