Anyone know how to disable the "auto off" feature on a cd player? Are there still cd players floating around that didn't come with this annoying improvement?

so when it's done with the last track, it shuts off?
If so, turn on 'repeat all'

No, I want to attach a sensor to a cd player, but it "auto offs" when the power is cut, rendering the sensor useless. Older cassette players work. Just wondering if this is a fixable problem in the cd world.

OK, so I've been told by a couple of folks that you can't disable a cd auto off, but one Radio Shack guy suggested just using the remote, so I'll give that a try (there is a "dead" pirate nearby, so that might work). Any other suggestions about how to make a triggered noise, like a cannon; I'm a little insecure about the big picture here, but I guess I'll just start messing with it and let you know what happens.
