I did a quick search hereand You tube but couldn't find anything. Has anyone ever done a homemade mechanism to make a prop tremble like it had chills or was slightly convulsing? I'm thinking maybe a out of balance flywheel of some kind might work but thought I would pick the local brains . Like a good zombie would.

Thanks for the links. Looks suspiciously like an offset counterweight to me. It also occurred to me that a crankshaft on a small motor might work. I've got a couple small Ebay jobs may give it a try in my "spare" time. Or I could make all my props out of Jello.
The barn has about 50 windows along the walls which if time allows will contain a menagerie of weird critters. Just thought if there were a simple way to make them move slightly it would be cool. There's so much else to do ( like finish another 100 feet of wall) that it's not critical. My mind is just so full of stuff I'd like to do that questions like this are like voices in my head. By Halloween I'll be certifiably crazy.

Mot what I was looking for but something I will surely end up using,

I think those motors on Ebay might be just the thing, Thanks for the link,
The motors sound like your best bet, but if you happen across a Bumble Ball at a yard sale or thrift shop, they can give you a decent battery-operated option. I used a keychain Bumble Ball for a small rat.
You could see about finding a hand held vibrating massager or even a set of hair clippers might give you the effect your looking for. Could find either one at a thrift store somewhere.
I ordered 5 tiny motors from China on Ebay. They are so cheap that even if not perfect not much lost. I'll let you know how they work. Thanks for all the input folks.
