    Default 2,000 Square Foot Maze

As some of you may remember my huge haunted town from last year. This year I was not going to do a huge project however I got talked into doing something again this year. So this year we are doing a 2,000 Square foot maze and has to be done before the 19th for a party and halloween. So tonight I'm staying up and designing the whole thing. I will post the plans and layout as soon as im done for any ideas or suggestions.

So far this is what I have, If anyone has an ideas or things I should change or add please do share, as this is the first time I'm doing a maze. I have plenty of room to add on some more stuff if needed. But looking for any ideas or suggestions. Everything is almost to scale in this photo. the width of the maze walk ways is 3 and a half feet wide. Expect for the entrance area which is bigger. So again if anyone has any great ideas on what I should do or add please share. I'm open for all ideas, I'm trying to do a mixer of anything and everything.

How many people go though at a time? If you have helpers it could be fun to have them actually move a wall while a group is turning a bend towards a dead end.
(Or have sliding doors). You can do some good stuff with lights or mirrors to help hide the dead ends.

Signs to mis-guide people is also good.

If you have space to use I recommend you add a forest section. You don't have to build walls like a maze. So its easier. Plus it adds another dimension. You can get hay bales, dead trees, and bushes for cheap if not free. I loved walking through a maze and suddenly the scenery changes to a forested area.

Wow! I wish I had that much space to work with! Although I'd probably go broke filling it with props, etc. The layout looks great, with lots of dead ends and false hallsways to get you confused. Nicely done! Please post pics of it.

Something to consider is that when the big pro haunts talk about designing their "maze" they are talking about the twisting paths going through their building. They aren't really mazes meant to confuse people as to where they are going.

Thanks for the tips guys much appreciated, yes if you seen what i did last year it was crazy now I'm limited too 3 weeks, but at least this time I have a lot of it done such as graveyard im using from last year, and some of the props. I have tons of lighting, and again space. I like the forest Idea and I did do that in the entrance area its all bushes and trees through there. And we usually have 4 to 6 actors dressed up in amazing customs. I'm going to try and figure out a moving/sliding door which would be amazing to have have them go through and someone shut it behind them, then reopen a new door from the side or something make it all blacked out then when new door opens have some bright lights.

So I we deciede to move the maze to the back of the pole barn and put it next to where we had the grave yard last year. I think this would be great since now I have to build a bridge for the exit where the bon fire n party is going to be. (more work for me yay) Its not that I dont mind the work just only have till the 19th to get it done . Here is a picture where I had the graveyard before.
