I am currently working on ths chair prop. Should I attach the legs to the body or leave them attached to the chair.

I had made something like this where I wanted my Frankensteins monster prop to sit straight up with arms extended. The momentum of the prop moving upwards will pull the arms up.
The legs on my prop stays attached to the chair and body since he was going to sit straight up.
To answer your question on your prop legs...are you going for a dismembered look or a prop that appears to be jumping out of chair and running?

Like Snake Eyes already said it depends on what look you're going for. OTOH attaching the legs to the body might result in a more dramatic effect like the guy is actually standing up. Looks good already!
