Just completed my first prop for 2012, a sign to use in the pirate display this year. It is made from a leftover piece of thin wood, a foam skull, and two plastic swords. Just did a wash of black and brown acrylic paint over the wood to age it a little. Attached the skull with hot glue gun (hope it holds), and screwed on the swords. Glued on a little moss from a Christmas plant I received. So excited to get started, and hope to post more projects as they get done.

Thanks TT and H71. I am trying for a more scary look this year. Mostly I come up with too cutesy-looking props, which the little kids around here like. We'll see.

Offmymeds, Thanks!
GraveyardGus, the swords were about $5 each at CVS, so not too expensive. I got them during the last Halloween season with this future project in mind.
Already had the foam skull from Michaels, just sawed off the back part to make it flat.
