There's several products out there specifically designed for this.

    http://hotwirefoamfactory.com/-025-Foam-Coat-3lbs.html
    http://sculpturalarts.com/foamcoating.htm
    http://www.fxsupply.com/materials/foamcoat.html

I'm going to be trying the first one relatively soon, but can't really comment on any of them yet.

Thanks Unorthodox! Let me know what you think of HWFF's foam coat. I've got a bit of time before I get to the stage where I can coat it, and I'm interested to know what you think of it.

THat's right! While I like brick columns, my favorite design would have to be the stone ones, hands down. I'm sure these will look amazing!

My go-to is Drylok masonry waterproofer. Two coats seals the foam, provides a tough texture, and the silica provides a nice gritty stone-like finish.

Hey guys something that's worked for me to coat, waterproof and texture my stonework and provided 5 years with no wear yet is a product called ground coat adhesive. Absolutely some of the most durable stuff I've worked with and is a mean addition to monster mudding. Cheap too-15.00 for 80

I hope so, my dear lady. I hope so. With the "Established" date of 1239 A.D. for my cemetery, I don't think that bricks would be quite as prevalent...historically speaking. I'm a big fan of stone masonry too, and nothing lends an air of ancient like stone work imho.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! =D

Thanks gents! Croglin, I'm curious as to what brand name "ground coat" you are using? Cheaper leaves more in the budget for other details, and that price...my attention, you haz it.

No worries at all Crog, I've been skipping back and forth between different projects while waiting on a custom order of ball bearings for the Raven project. Coincidentally, I've been working on the arch for the cemetery gate and cutting more "stones" for the past couple of days. So the timing is absolutely perfect, thanks!
