So I have a Chavuet fogger I think 800 hurricane and last season it died on me because I forgot to fill it up every 2 hours or so and it basically ran dry outta juice for probably awhile. Anyways, it turns on, but doesnt spit out fog, just makes some sorta sound I don't recall.

Anyone have anything like this happen to them before and repaired it? I'd rather not buy a new one. Not sure what I can do,but seems like there's gotta be something? I already took it apart, just not sure what to look for.

    Thanks in advance!

While it's difficult to say for sure without some further info. Is the unit heating up? Is it getting hot enough to go into it's normal "on" cycle (if not, is it just stay in re-heat mode)?

According to Chauvet's manual, it doesn't appear to have the low fluid protection of the newer models. Quoted from the manual:

Always monitor fog fluid level as running the machine with no fluid could cause permanent damage.
Please do not touch or place anything in close proximity to the nozzle during operation or preheat as
there is a danger of burns.Likely, the pump motor is dead.
There are a few possibilities for the fogger not working. You'll need to eliminate each one, one by one. Could you post pics of the pump, specifically of the side with the model number (if there is one)? Hopefully we can find out the spec's for that pump, so you can then test it to make sure it's working.

Secondly, it very well may also be the thermocouple that has failed as well if the pump is in operational order (common part to fail in foggers). If that is the case, then there is a substitution you can make (Chauvet doesn't sell repair parts to the general public), but there is a way around that as you will see in the following video.

First things first though. Check to make sure it is in fact heating, then get the model number of the pump, and we can go from there

I feel your pain. I bought the 1350 model 5 years ago...used it for a few hours, cleaned it per the manual, put it in its original box in a storage unit until this year...no fog...lots of funky sounds. I ended up using a $19 Party City fogged that was a year older, never cleaned & also stored for 5 years.
