Howdy haunters,
I'm sure it's on here somewhere and I'm just not seeing it, but is there a ready-made product that I can simply plug into my lamp, and it will make the lighting sloooowly fade in and out? I have some of those sound activated "flicker" boxes, but that's not the effect I'm going for.
I have absolutely no wiring/electrical knowledge, supplies, or tools, and I'd probably burn my house down trying; hence, the ready-made idea.
Thankx gang!

Sorry, no answer for you here. But I'd also be interested in specific models of boxes that do this type of effect. I've seen something like this browsing around various halloween store web sites--because these sorts of faders can be used for a Pepper's Ghost effect. But I don't know which models are any good. Not sure where I've seen them either. Hopefully others can help.

This might work for you. It does have a slow glow, slow fade option and it's not too expensive.

Thanks, Halloween Lady. I actually spent the better part of Monday looking for this item online, to no avail. I bought one last year on ebay, made by Stanley, but have had no luck finding another.
BTW, your link doesn't seem to be working. I just searched christmasdepot.com to find it."Waiter, there's a hair in my soylent green!"

I've been using this device I bought from HauntMaster Products for several years to fade and blink my Cemetery Column lights.
It says "Sold out" right now, but the seller will probably have more in stock soon.
I highly recommend it!

MadMax posted this tutorial for a fader using a Christmas light controller:
Flicker Light Controller Made from Christmas Lights
(I know you want a fader---if the light string has that option on its controller, this might work for you.)

Dave thanks and most 8 function controllers have the slow fade that allows one light to fade on while one fades off and it also will fade one to black and another fades in.
Here's the controller...plug one light in one outlet and another in the other outlet. Set it to the fade or slow glow on the controller. You can also have lights chasing, flickering (couple different type of flickers) or a combination.
