I'm sure someone has seen these, made these or what ever but I found a link to making Pillar candles out of TP rolls instead of PVC. I thought..."Hmmmm, I don't have the money for PVC right now and I need some for inside the shelter house for halloween so, why not." I started making them and now I cant stop. I'm thinking about dipping them into a plasti-rubber mix used to re-coat tools like pliers and such. My only concern doing that is it may make it so my "candles" don't fit down in them. My other thought is to Monstermud them with white tint and paint them Red.
They will be great for Interior Decorations. And they are a great way to perfect my design for the outdoor pillars. I'm thinking about trying silicone caulk on the PVC instead of Hot Glue. Any suggestions?

My husband brings home rolls from his job that are all different sizes and about 3 and 4 inches across and very thick. I had been throwing them away because I couldn't get past that crease that spirals around them. What do you do to fill them in?

don't know yet. so far I havent had a problem with the spiral. But I am sure that any problem I have will soon be rectified by monster mud and if need be a bit of sanding. Though I doubt it will come to that. MM is a great filler. Besides you can always work with the spiral and paint it to give your candles that extra added accent when everything else fails.

I split the rolls then re-rolled them a little smaller to hold the LED tea candles. Dribbled hot glue on them to make the wax. i then played with spray paint. Grey primer, then white, then black. Not thick coats, just dusted until they looked close. Then I painted black and rolled them on a rag to wipe the black off the high spots.
I forgot to add, I rolled up a TP roll and stuck it into the candle holder first. Then slipped the larger roll over the top. That held it stable in the candlestick holder.
