Yesterday we found someone close who was selling all of their Halloween stuff. We bought a ton! One of the things he threw in for free was an animated spirit ball that didn't work. I have never seen one of these before and am not familiar with how they work. I was hoping someone who had one could give me some ideas of where to look for a way to fix it. It came with the plug in and also has a place for batteries.

If not, what about some ideas of how to use it broken. I'm attaching a picture of the product I found online just so you know what I'm talking about. It doesn't look this cool in person.

Many of us have used the base and globe for our Madame Leota props. We strip out the electronics so the fact that it doesn't work is fine.

I tore all the stuff out and stuck a Chauvet LEDsplashJR light inside of mine.....Cut a hole in the bottom of it so I could run the wires off the lights out of it....Then covered the light with a piece of red silk to hide it and put the globe back on it.......It looks awesome shining up on the skulltronix skull behind it....You really can't tell where the light is emitting from other than in the ball so as it goes through it's routine and changes colors, it's really something to see....ZR

I have that same spirit ball. I've opened mine up and removed the head for a project. Then ended up not being able to use it like I wanted, so I re-installed it back on the globe base. Still works like new.

What is the problem with yours? No power at all??

That's right. I plug it in and nothing happens. It wouldn't need batteries as well as being plugged in would it?

No, it works off of batteries or a cord - your call... but did you try batteries (no cord) to see if it worked? The problem could be the cord, and that's actually not too hard to replace...
