The Graveyard Skulls kit is about 50 buck more than the $115 kit from Triaxial Skulls (I'm referencing the Twisty's 2.1 kit). Does anyone have any experience with these two kits. Is one better over the other. I want to buy a few but would like some feedback first.

    Thanks

I cannot compare but I have used a Triaxial kit and was very please. Went together easy, pretty good instructions to follow. I don't recommend there servo kit, found them very load and not as smooth as hitec. But like I said haven't used or seen GYS kit so Cannt make a comparison but for the price Triaxial workes for me.

Where do you get the hitec servos? Is there a kit or do you need to buy them separately?

I like the Triaxial better. Better range of motion. I just got another two of them and will probably replace all of my graveyard skulls eventually. Here's a vid comparing the two.

How complicated is it to assemble the triaxial kit? aprox. how long does it take to put together and is there complicated steps like exact drilling or machining work?

Mine has not arrived yet but the directions are in PDF, it looks like the only "complicated steps like exact drilling or machining work" is to widen the hole for the neck to 2 and a half inches. shouldnt be too hard with an old fashioned hole saw though. everything else looks very easy.

    Thanks @ untillater.......
Just before I posted the question here I e-mailed Triaxial Labs and already got a response!
They said it is pretty much straight-forward assembly with some drilling and would prob. take a beginer (like me) aprox. 3 hours to complete.

Well, the kit arrived today. I have not yet assembled it, but I must say, I am not impressed.
-everything was stuffed into a USPS flat rate box with little padding. (just paper)
-Also, you need to have a hole saw, drill, and tap to assemble. Not a problem for me, but I dont think they should expect everyone to just have them. This should be stated in the product description before people order.
-The kit contains cheap servos T Pro SG-5010 which sell on ebay for about 30$ for 4. (when buying at wholesale, quality hitec servos would cost them about the same. typical markup is 40 - 50%)
-the hardware included runs less than $25 at servoCity. I bet with a little effort I could find it for much less.
-The Plexi/acrylic mounting plate was poorly cut and drilled by hand.
-The included lindburg skull was unpackaged. the teeth, nose piece, and jaw had been taken apart and stuffed in a plastic baggy.
Grand total to order all the included parts less than $75, the kit was $133.45 shipped.
now, I am not saying they dont deserve to make a profit but $50 minimum per skull, and more if they are smart and not paying retail for parts is a bit much.

The next task is to assemble and test it out, will update as I go, might take me a week or three to get around to it though as classes start again on monday.

At the very least as stated previously, only get the $65 hardware kit, buy your skull from amazon, and order decent servos from servocity/ebay/amazon whatever.
