Heres a work in progress. Sculpted in WED clay, and will be molded in hydrocal and cast as a latex mask. Probably paint up some clown versions, some zombies, maybe a football coach or biology professor. Hope you like him! Thanks for looking.

    Fantastic as usual.

Do you have any tutorials on the casting phase?

Thanks Grim! Sorry, No tutorials...but what I do to cast a mask is pretty easy..I slowly fill the mold cavity with latex, then let it sit in there for about an hour. After that, I dump the latex back into its bucket, and i'm left with a nice thick coating of latex that has built up (since I let it dwell for that hour). I leave it to drip (upside down) for about 10 minutes, flip it back over, then set it in front of a small fan overnight to dry...When it begins to release itself from the sides of the mold, its ready to pull. I then pull it from the mold, wash it in water, scrub it with vinegar and a toothbrush ( yep, the acidity really helps the paint bond later), then rinse once more, and finally air dry..its now ready to paint!

Wow! Incredible sculpt! Definitely looking forward to seeing a zombie version. Any idea on what the price will be when complete?

    Thanks!

Freaking sweet sculpt Chop! All bs'ing aside, I think that's the best sculpt that you have done so far. Great detailing!

Thanks guys! I got in as an apprentice at Immortal Masks a few weeks ago...although we do silicone masks and the technical process is a lot different, I'm bombarded with more lifelike sculptures from uber experienced people. I'm hoping it will eventually influence my own stuff!
