    Hello all!
I have had a repeating problem thats funny but i cant figure it out!
I am undsure on how to connect a wiper motor to its power supply.
Im going to be buying the power pack and ive always steered away from wiper motor props
because of power supplies not functioning correctly I have the quick connect how can i use the quick connect and
power pack supply to finally power my wiper motor so i can put this to bed
a video or photos would be helpful!
    Thanks,
    Chris

Hi Chris. Being that every wiper motor is a little different, it would be helpful if you could post a pic (including the wires) & model number of the wiper motor in question. Generally speaking, polarity wise among the wires...black will nearly always be a chassis ground. As for the other wires, there will usually be a secondary ground among them on most wiper motors. Then typically, there are three additional wires, which are high, low, and the intermittent wiper setting (not all have this one, also referred to as the park function).

What are you using for a power supply? I highly recommend an inexpensive (read $30 or less) computer power supply. Aside from the higher output capabilities & multiple voltage outputs, most also include a short circuit protection feature. Which is particularly helpful when testing a motor in this scenario where the wiring schematic is not known. Not to mention, easily capable of supplying enough current for a rather heavy load.

It's easy, they have an image on their web sit on how to wire it for two different speeds. I had trouble with it at first, didn't want to break it, a small screwdriver into the head will separate the metal enough to fit it over the connector.

The MG power pack is a pretty good deal. I use 3 of them in my wiper motor props. The wiring is easy - just connect the MG adapter as shown in the link you posted and you're good to go.

Edit - I agree with Empty W, some of the female spade connectors are a bit tight, but opening them with a screwdriver tip solves the problem.

Well, it looks like you're in good hands. I don't have any experience with the MonsterGuts wiper motor, so I'll leave you in the competent hands of those that do.

The black wire (ground) from the PS connects to the pin on the left as indicated in the picture. The motor actually grounds directly through the motor housing. You'll see that pin is actually soldered/welded to the metal housing.

okay! so lets see cause i havent dealt with wiper motors really at all ive been doing pnuematics so im having trouble with the quick connect. so as a general question to anyone that has experience with wiper motors and quick connects here we go. I have my wiper motor in front of me (figuratively) and the power supply and quick connect. I know that the power suplle circular pin connector on the end connects to the matching one of the quick connect. now theres another end that shows in the picture it has red caps. where do those 2 ends go.

    secondly,
aside from the power supply the blue wires coming out of the wiper motor where do they go in correlation to hooking up the power. does everything go in that black housing piece?
in the picture above it seems that that power supply comes off the motor and runs back in but i see now quick connect piece so thats where im lost.

sorry if im being a pain in the caboose its just if you try to look for a specfic way to hook up your motor you really cant find one! so i gotta ask the experts@!
Thanks and those are my hopefully last questions!

The two female spade connectors (red ends) attach to the tabs in the black housing on the motor. One of the spade connectors will always be attached to the left-hand tab in the motor as shown in the above pic. The other connector is attached to the appropriate tab for high or low speed. To reverse the direction of rotation, just reverse the connections. Don't sweat the blue wires, you don't need to do anything with them.
