Does anyone have any reccomendations on good books for beginner haunting. Or do most of you find you get much better material off the internet than through books.

Honestly, there is no substitute to the wealth of information on the net. Although, there are a few books I'd like to have some day. I keep finding projects, or props that come ahead of any book. That's really saying something, because I'm a voracious reader.

Here's a good start for you. You'll be reading these couple of sites for weeks...
http://hauntproject.com/
http://www.halloweenmonsterlist.info/
And that is just the tip of the iceberg that is prop how-to's on the web.

You can find all kinds of prop ideas and how-to's right here on this forum! It never ceases to amaze me just how clever and creative our members are. If it's books you're after I can recommend the following titles:
- How to Haunt Your House vol. 1 & 2 by Shawn & Lynne Mitchell
- Haunted House Halloween Handbook by Jerry Chavez
- Extreme Halloween by Tom Nardone
- Extreme Pumpkins vol. 1 & 2 by Tom Nardone
All very good and informative books.
Just as a side note, if you are indeed an avid reader then might I suggest you check out the following thread? It's one I started for just such an occasion.

Have to agree with Halloweeny78. I have both the How to Haunt Your House books. My wife found them on Amazon. Great tips for the beginner!
