We started a Halloween builders' club and had our first meeting this weekend. Our first project was to do some head casting in my garage. The group is small right now: Scott Axworthy (flying ghost guy), Sven Peterson (Grim Visions), Howard Carson and me but we'll probably grow just a little bigger. Our plan is to meet once a month to talk Halloween and build something collaboratively; we're not sure where this will lead but the journey should be fun!
Our homework assignment this month is to take our head casts and sculpt something cool on them. At our next meeting we'll create some molds and later create some masks (maybe sell a few on eBay to recover our costs). We're talking about doing something with DMX prop control after that but nothing has been decided for sure.
It was a fun weekend. I highly suggest doing something similar in your neighborhood if you have a few friends that like to do Halloween prop building! All you need is a garage, an idea, some snacks and a few friends.
Here are some pictures from this past weekend:

That looks like a great time! Not sure I'd volunteer to be the model for the head cast but it turned out great!
Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Actually, Howard, Sven and I all made one (Scott already had one).
Never, ever pick a scab.
