To keep things fresh, I'm redoing the face/head of the stirring witch prop. Both old and new are paper mache and a variety of air drying clays (model magic, paper clay, DAS)

The old face (grey) is on the left, the new version (green) on the right.

This is the whole prop with the old face. The hands would be repainted as well.

The new model has no hair in the picture, I'm thinking black hair for the green witch. Maybe the green witch could loose a few teeth etc.

The new version is more of a classic green witch, while the old version was more of a old hag.

    Any thoughts?

I'm liking it! But I got to ask if you will change the hair color or not. I would go with black for the new head.
If at first you don't suceed.... drink another beer!

Thanks. U R correct, the hair will be black. White or grey may be too much contrast.

I'll post a picture in the next day or two.

    Here's the prop near completion.

Spent awhile putting strands/groups of black hair on her, but it gets lost in the clothing.

Also not visible are the long black nails on her hands... oh well.

    I'll post a video soon.

I like the green face. The stirring mechanism is great. Nice movement. What kind of motor did you use for the head movement? I'm doing a coven of three witches for next year and one will have a turning head. I plan to use a vent motor.
Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

    Thanks,

The head movement is a vent motor, stirring is a wiper motor.
A few years ago I tried to use one motor for both head & caldron, but it kept jamming.

I like the coven idea, I plan to make a partner witch or two, probably static.
