Hi guys! I just had a new idea come to mind possibly for next year. I was thinking of having a mirror right in front of the candy bowl. When the trick-or-treaters walk up to it, a scary pop-up style face appears. When I say pop-up I mean like the one's on those youtube videos. Is there a cheap and easy way to do this with a computer and projector? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If all you want is a static scary face, you just need some sort of 2 way mirror and an image of a face that can be backlit on cue.

What's the average price on a two-way mirror that's the size of a normal mirror?

Here is a video of my first version of a haunted mirror.

It is a cheap dvd player and LCD screen behind a two way mirror. The mirror is a sheet of Plexiglass from Home Depot with mirrored film used for tinting cars. When the LCD is off, it looks like a mirror.
This last year, I modified the DVD remote control so that it is activated by a foot pad. I created the video with software with a hidden play icon on the screen and a black background. When you step on the foot pad, it simply activates the play button on the remote and the video plays.
