On to the next theme. So I have decided to do a haunted mansion type theme.
I started a thread last year for the pirate theme and got great ideas and lots of people doing the same theme.
I am hopeing to have some members that are doing this theme also to bounce ideas.
I will start first I am wanting to decorate the porch area as a room of a house.Curtains will be hung on the porch-changing pictures hung-candles that will be hung to appear to be floating-a skelly at a table with cob webs books and more candles-a coffin with a animated skelly will also be part of this scene.
I will also revamp my fighting pirates rig to make a hitchhicking skelly.
The mansion part of the yard will contain many tombstones-candles-haunted bust(sams prop from 2010)-tombstone lifter that has been painted white with black eyeshadowing under eyes and top hat-a hatbox ghost-a bride and groom-a bride projection-a fcg still deciding what I am going to use-some of my pumpkin rots-and singing pumpkins. Also may add a grave digger.

One of my favorite themes! I bought the Spirit candelabras this year for my Haunted Mansion living room - both the five candle tabletop version and the 4.5' floor version and I LOVE them (http://www.spirithalloween.com/produ...th-led-lights/). Even though they are a little pricey, they are extremely well made (great details, heavyweight) and to me they scream haunted mansion. You could also cover a piece of patio of furniture with a white sheet and spiderwebs to look like living room furniture that has been collecting dust for years. Great thread, can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

I did a bit of HM this year with projecting ghosts onto a plastic drop cloth. If you need I have photos from the WDW HM somewhere on my hard drive, I would be happy to post them for you to give you some jumping off points for ideas.

Very cool thread, one of my favorite props we got early on was the Gruesome Gallery Flashing Portrait Halloween Special Effects System and Grotesque Flashing Bust
I met the creator at the transworld show in Las Vegas a few year back, Ordered the set and have been very happy with it, I am not sure if he is still making them, but they are cool pieces

This year I purchased an incredible set of Male & female Watcher Bust w/frame created by Larry Carr of Abracadave, they were a great deal. I highly reccomend getting them with the frame. We put a small par 16 light behind each one and got a tone of compliments. Also check out the Memorie tombstone, very cool

Very interesting! So these are a 3d bust mounted in a picture frame? Do you have a picture of them setup in your haunt?

HA HA, I wish I did, it just gets so busy, I actually cut out special opneings for them in a wall unit I made and place them in the graveyard scene. The best way to explain them is they are an inverted half bust in a frame.
