Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I have a question about a Nail Gun/Compressor combo that Lowes has on a Black Friday special for $59.

My main question is would this be good to handle pneumatic props and or something like ankle ticklers? It is 100 psi, 0.33 hp & has 2 gallon tanks. Also, do you think it is a decent nailgun? I don't really need the nailgun. But, I feel I'll need the compressor for props or painting.
They also have a Bostitch combo for $149. It has a 90 psi compressor with a 6 gallon tank.

I would say the size depends on the number of pneumatic props and how much air each one will use.
For 1 or 2, this should be fine.

If you don't mind it running alot... you would be well served looking for deals on supplementary air tanks (I've seen them at menards for like $13). I have an old 100lb propane tank in line just to help out.

I purchased the 2 gal CH @ Lowes last year on BF. Way underpowered - just wanted mine to keep tires topped up and for use w/ a web-caster gun. Not even powerful enough for the web caster - constant cycling and long waits between using the caster gun. Also, the "nail gun" is really more of a stapler. Can only handle really small brad-type nails and is prone to jamming.
For $149, Lowes has: Campbell Hausfeld 0.8 HP 8-Gallon 200 PSI Electric Air Compressor on sale for BF. Probably a better choice.

I'd say it's really not a worthwhile compressor for a home haunter. That CH compressor is only .5 SCFM output @ 90 psi & .36 SCFM @ 40 psi. That's ok for pumping up the occasional car/ bike tire if you have time to sit and wait...but not much else. Overall, it's pretty pathetic, and it couldn't even keep up with someone who is reasonably skilled with a nailgun.
Tanks size is < compressor head & motor, on the scale of importance. A higher output head can keep up (assuming the motor is big enough to drive it), and tank size is not withstanding unless using real air hogs, like grinders & such.
This Porter Cable is much more suited to your intended purposes. http://www.lowes.com/webapp/wcs/stor...AID=1024194507
