Electronic Goldmine is having a black friday sale, and one of their sale items is the 12V vent motors that went scarce a few months back, for just $5.00 each !

    http://www.goldmine-elec-products.co...?number=G16034

They say they have a limited quantity, so they limited it to 10 per customer (well, actually, you can order as many as you want, but if you order quantities of 11 or more the price jumps to $1,000.00 each . Seems like EG has a sense of humor ). They also say that they expect them to sell out fast.

That's awesome. I've been wanting to try some animation using vent motors for the first time. Could not pass up the opportunity! Thank for sharing.

There are so many things you can use these for.

    My vent motor projects:

    1. FCG
    2. Floating spider, moved up and down with some fishing line.
    3. Spinning skull, just rotated a web covered skull with flashing eyes.
    4. Mini turntables, 3 mini LED flashing ghosts would just spin in circles.

I wanted to do more with them but I ran out of time. They're slow @ 5-6 RPM 12VDC but they have good torque and are very quiet.
    Boo!

This year I built a cauldron creep, and I used one of these motors to make the head move up and down slowly.

There are a lot of possibilities for these motors. They're strong, durable, and very quiet. I can't compare them to reindeer motors because I've never used them, but others here have.

I got that E-mail too, but I think i have plenty of them for now. Leaves more for those that need them. I love those motors.

    I've used them for:

    A stirring witch
    Tombstone Peeper
    Teeter-Totter
    Animated Wolf
    Animated Cat
    Skeleton that turns his head
    Haunted Ouija Board
    Crawling Skeleton

    Probably a few I forgot.........
